Safeplay Team Leader (9 month Secondment)
9 Month Contract (Maternity Cover) - Full time 40 hours
Remote (Please only apply if you live within an hour’s commute of our Sunderland office, as there will be occasions when you’ll need to attend meetings or training on-site).
Shift Pattern: Monday 8am–4pm / Thursday 12pm–8pm / Friday & Saturday 6am–2pm / Sunday 8am–4pm (Tuesday & Wednesday off)
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual with proven team leadership experience to join our Safer Gambling team as a Team Leader on a 9-month contract to cover maternity leave.

You’ll lead by example, bringing experience in coaching, developing, and motivating others, while fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels free to be themselves and proud of the work they do.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in reviewing and improving our internal processes, making sure our Safer Gambling practices are finely tuned to put players first and protect them from gambling-related harm. You’ll also work closely with our Compliance team to ensure we stay ahead of the game, meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining that perfect balance between safety and fun.

Your responsibilities will include: 🧐
- Motivate your team to new heights!
- Collate & analyse performance data.
- Produce quality control reports.
- Support & share best practice across the Player Protection function.
- People Management.
- Training content creation & delivery.
- Participate in internal/external audits.
- Business update champion: Keeping up to date & sharing important updates with your team.
- Complaints/escalations.
- Take ownership of our staff survey, responding to anonymous people surveys.
- Conduct monthly coaching.
- Hold regular meetings with our team & well-being 1-2-1s.
In addition to the above you will also be responsible for: 🔎
- Long Term Absence reviews & return to work planning.
- Trainee probation reviews.
- Crisis escalation.
- Training.
- Recruitment.
- Onboarding/offboarding process management.
Skills we are seeking: 😇
- English language skills (including reading, writing and speaking the language) are essential for this role.
- A minimum of 1 years' experience within a people management role is essential.
- Experience in a similar role in a regulated environment is desired.
- Strong understanding of responsible gaming principles is desired.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
