Role purpose
At tombola, creating a safe, enjoyable and entertaining experience for our players is at the heart of everything we do. The Head of Group Acquisition Marketing plays a pivotal role in supporting responsible growth across all the markets in which we operate.
This role leads our organic and paid acquisition activity end-to-end, managing an annual budget of over £20m and driving both the volume and long-term value of new depositing players. A strong focus on data, insight and experimentation will ensure acquisition strategies are effective, measurable and continuously improving.
Working as part of the Group Marketing and Commercial leadership team, the role partners closely with colleagues across Brand, Growth and International, while collaborating with teams throughout tombola and the wider Flutter group.
What you’ll be doing
Leading and developing our acquisition team
A high-performing team of acquisition specialists sits at the heart of this role. Leadership, coaching and development support will be provided across Paid Social & Referral, Search, Programmatic & Online Media, and Martech, creating an inclusive environment where people can thrive. Strong relationships across the Flutter group will help maximise the value of shared expertise and best practice.
Setting and delivering acquisition strategy
Clear, insight-led acquisition strategies will be developed and delivered across all channels, aligned to business objectives and player needs. Ongoing awareness of industry trends, emerging opportunities and new technologies will inform continuous optimisation.
Managing CPA and ROI
Robust tracking and reporting will be embedded to monitor cost per acquisition and return on investment. Performance data and insight will guide optimisation decisions, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
Shaping our marketing and advertising technology
In partnership with the UKI Marketing Technology team, future marketing and advertising technology needs will be defined. Tool and platform selection will focus on improving measurement, attribution, optimisation and investment decision-making.
Driving conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
CRO strategy across acquisition journeys will be owned end-to-end, with testing and experimentation used to improve click-through and conversion rates. This role acts as a key advisor to senior leaders on all aspects of digital customer experience.
Collaborating across product and technology
Close collaboration with in-house Product and Technology teams ensures campaign creative, landing pages and user journeys are optimised, delivering a seamless and engaging experience for new players.
Using AI, ML and automation to improve performance
AI, machine learning and automation are actively explored to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Opportunities to automate processes, personalise messaging and optimise targeting are identified and implemented where they add value.
What we’re looking for
Significant experience in acquisition marketing across organic and paid channels, ideally within online gaming, gambling or a similarly regulated industry
A strong track record of managing large acquisition budgets and delivering profitable growth
Deep understanding of performance marketing channels and supporting systems
Experience leading, developing and motivating high-performing teams
A genuine interest in user acquisition, CRO and continuous improvement
Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
